About Ian Holland, Project Management Professional (PMP®)
Founder
I was born and raised in Quebec. An average student, I nonetheless had a knack for theatre, so I auditioned for, and was admitted to, a well-regarded theatre school in Montreal after high school. It was there I discovered I preferred to let others have the limelight than to put myself in front of large crowds.
Sadly, after this and other factors, I felt unwilling and unable to remain in Montreal so I hitchhiked to Toronto with nothing but the clothes on my back and a red backpack.
Soon, I enrolled in the Canadian Naval Reserves and earned a couple of humbling awards during GMT (General Military Training, which is like “boot camp” from the US Marines).
Then, off to Windsor, Ontario, because that’s where the only university that would let me study full time, admitted me.
Next, soon after I graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Commerce degree, I immersed myself in projects at whatever job I worked, which guided me into studying for, and writing, the PMP exam.
And here I am, all about projects.
Finally, I am the step-father to two adult sons and husband to Jeannie. I earned my Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation in 2008 and have maintained it in good standing continuously ever since.
